This blog post is very helpful to install Sitecore on your local machine. There are two ways to install the setup on the local machine using SIF and SIA.
In this blog, we are following the SIA installation process.
Follow all those steps one by one and you will be able to install the Sitecore instance on your machine successfully.
Windows 10 or 11
Windows PowerShell version 5.1 or later
Sitecore License file
.Net Framework 4.8.0 or later
Solr (8.11.2)
Microsoft SQL Server 2017 or later
Sitecore XP 10.3 Graphical setup package for XP Single (https://dev.sitecore.net/Downloads/Sitecore_Experience_Platform/103/Sitecore_Experience_Platform_103.aspx )
Firstly, download the above provided 10.3 packages in your local folder and extract that zip into a new folder (e.g., C:\sitecore\sitecore10.3) after which move your Sitecore license file also in that folder.
Now you can run the setup.exe file in Administrator mode.
Install the prerequisites
If prerequisites are already in your system, you may skip or else you can install them and proceed further.
Install SOLR search
In this step, it will install SOLR in your system You just have to pass 3 parameters and SOLR will be ready.
Sitecore settings
In this step, you have to select the license file and Sitecore admin password that you want to be configured.
Microsoft SQL Server setting.
In this step, you must add your local SQL server instance name, username, and password.
Solr Setting
Here you can click next after the above step.
Optional module installation
If you want to work on SXA then you can check the check box and proceed further but for now we are skipping that part.
Now review and validate the next step after which we can proceed further for installation.
After successful installation, you will see that three instances will be created in IIS and 3 root folders in your inetpub/wwwroot folder.
Now Sitecore 10.3 is installed in your system and ready for implementation.
